Ian Easter

Maj (ret) Ian Easter was born in BC but has lived in India, Turkey, Holland and various provinces in Canada. He grew up singing in church, school and community choirs before singing at a more elite level with the Trinity Western University Chamber Choir where he enjoyed performances with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Chamber Choir as well as touring Eastern Europe just after the fall of the Iron Curtain. He took a 25-year hiatus from formal singing to engage in a career in ministry which culminated in retiring as a Mental Health Chaplain in the Canadian Forces.

Ian moved to Halifax in 2022 and quickly jumped into the vibrant choral scene here in Nova Scotia, singing with The Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus, Nova Voce, Polaris, The Nova Scotia Symphony Choir and Borealis (formerly Eastern Horizon). He is thrilled to be part of Camerata and work with this amazingly talented group of people.
