REQUIEM FOR PEACE

First Baptist Church, Halifax
Halifax Camerata Singers will offer the East Coast
premiere of Larry Nickel’s celebrated score for choir
with woodwind trio, percussion and piano.
In Nickel’s words “…Requiem for Peace honors the
suffering civilians of this world who have been caught
in the cross fire between warring nations, circumstances
they have little control over.”
Integrating poetry in twelve languages, it is an
international call for forgiveness and reconciliation.
The concert will be accompanied by a large screen
projection of over 200 meaningful images.
SOLSTICE

Saint Matthew’s United Church, Halifax
Halifax Camerata Singers join forces with the
internationally celebrated Nova Scotia soprano,
Nicole Jordan in new arrangements of traditional
carols. Camerata will also sing pieces from their album
“Songs of the Stable.”
Just in time for the Holidays, this not-to-be-missed
concert is a fundraiser for the music program at
Saint Matthew’s United Church.

Handel’s “Messiah” is always a much anticipated
Symphony Nova Scotia and Halifax Camerata
Singers collaboration that moves and delights and
is a traditional part of the holiday season.
Halifax Camerata Singers form the core choir within
the Symphony Nova Scotia Chorus.

We celebrate the saints and legends who have
walked among us and their contribution to our world.
Halifax Camerata Singers will pay tribute to
John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr,
Mother Teresa, Hildegard von Bingen, Saint Francis of
Assisi, Saint John of the Cross, and others.
Special guests Blue Engine String Quartet join Halifax
Camerata Singers for this concert, which will include
pieces by Benjamin Britten, Herbert Howells, Ola Gjeilo,
René Clausen, as well as Canadian composers Jeff
Enns, Imant Raminsh, Emily Walker and the premiere of
a new work by Halifax Camerata Singers’ 2013 New
Song Competition winner, Elisha Denburg.
