William Austin

After studying music at Memorial University of Newfoundland for a year (2021), William Austin is excited to return to Nova Scotia and join the renowned Halifax Camerata. William has been a tenor in various choirs since middle school, beginning with Pictou United Church (2013) and recently performing with the National Youth Choir of Canada (Dr. Jean Sebastien-Vallee, 2022). In addition to these choirs, William has been a part of the various choirs at North Nova Education Centre (Janice Alcorn and Sheila Aucoin), the Quintessential Vocal Ensemble (Susan Quinn), the Nova Scotia Youth Choir (2019) and the Memorial University Chamber Choir (Dr. Jakub Martinec). William has also studied under Wayne Rogers and Dr. Jane Leibel.

William is also ecstatic to begin his pre-med journey at Dalhousie University while continuing his music studies with Cindy Townsend! On the rare occasions that he is not singing or studying, William likes to spend his time outdoors with his Lab “Poppy,” caring for his plants, or reading a book with some hot cocoa.
